Colts see off Coopers
Colts started slowly and were shocked when the Coopers strikers rounded A Lee and slotted the ball into the empty net. This woke up Colts, who were on top within five minutes, a through-ball by Lane found the run of N Parker. At the second attempt Neil managed to control the ball in between his legs and prod past the keeper on the stretch. Soon after Colts were 2-1 up, Lane with good work down the wing then found the on rushing King who fired hard past the keeper.
N Parker then went close again with some very unregonisable play, Parker lobbed the ball over the centre back and then battled his way through the centre backs and unleashed a shot that cannoned off the underside of the bar. Coopers equalised when a soft goal was conceeded from a setpiece.

Oli Wisker finished off a scramble from a corner to send a looping header into the top of the net. The next two goals were scored by Jones, after a great ball from A Wisker, Jones picked up the ball 15yds from goal, after bringing the ball down on his chest, Jones was pushed out wide but still managed to finish from a tight angle. Sams second goal was a real a classic, Craig Winch with the cross, which spilled it off of Jones' knee to complete the scoring.

The Come-back Colts
Sunday 14th December saw Colts involved in their most exciting and eventful game this season. They staged a memomorial come back by by comming from 2-0 behind and winning the game 3-2 in the space of a dramatic 5mins. Most who witnessed the game would say that Marquis Of Lorne were very unlucky not to come away with anything from the game. In truth neither team created many chances. Marquis however did look more threatning with plently of dangerous crosses into the area. Colts reorganised in the second half and came out alot brighter, still there not much between the two sides when the deadlock was broken. Lee was called into action with two great saves and unfortunately for him, and Colts, one of the saves fell to their player who drilled the ball low into the bottom right hand corner.

Things went from bad to worse for Colts after Bartlett was judged to have brought down a Maquis player in the area, Lee had no chance as their striker converted, hammering it down the middle of the goal, 2-0. Colts were still struggling to create chances and were perhaps missing the creativity of King in midfield who was resting a sligh injury.
But after some luck Colts were right back in the game, The ball was delivered from the left into Neil Parker who miscontrolled - luckily the ball found its way to Lane who smashed a volley into the net, there were a few calls for offside but the flag stayed down. Shortly after Colts were level, Parker picked up the ball on the edge of the area and managed to thread the ball through the opposing players legs to find Lane who, like he did two minutes earlier, found the net with a smart side footed finish.

Colts started to believe that they could pull something off and went looking for the winner, they didn't have to wait long because after another minute Colts were in front for the first time in the game. It came when a pressured clearance from the goalkeaper fell to the feet of Sam Jones who unleashed a great strike from 25yds into the top corner. The comeback was complete and Colts managed to rescue 3points that looked very unlikely at 2-0 down.

Colts keep pressure on top spot
Colts picked up another vital 3 points at the expense of the leagues bottom team Breachwood Lions. Colts problem this year has been scoring goals, and for once you might have thought this was going to change. Lane started brightly and called the keeper into action early, a combination of the woodwork and good goalkeeping left Lane a bit frustrated. Lane did open the scoring after great work down the right hand side, King picked out Pallister who swung in a deep cross to the back post where it was met by Lane to nod into the bottom corner.

The second goal was from the ever consistent goal scoring hero Oli Wisker, after a bi of a goal mouth scramble Oli managed to fire in the top corner from just around the edge of the area. The third goal came from a whipped in cross from Hufford found Liversidge who stooped and headed the ball low into the corner. Whilst all this was happening Wisker and Parker (caretaker match day managers) were hatching a plan to get 3 subs on. After the subs were made it was obvious we had lost some of the balance and things didn’t help after Pallister was forced to come off due to cramp. Just before this Breachwood scored directly from a corner to make the game 3-1. We never really looked like conceding after all Adrian only had 2 shots to deal with and one was a corner. The highlight of the day was the Breachwood sub wearing the Pink Nike Mercurial Vapor Rosas.

Colts make it hard for themselves
Today Colts Old Boys travelled to Marriots school to play Marquis of Lorne in their sixth league game of the year hoping to get back to winning ways. The game started pretty much straight after the Colts players set foot on the pitch, yet they managed to start pretty convincingly. The back four seemed to have control of the Marquis players and a good link up down the left side saw Dan Liversidge run in to score the opener.
The second half continued in much the same fashion as the first, with Colts having the majority of posession. After giving away a freekick on the edge of the box Colts lost their 1-0 lead when the ball took a deflection of the wall and ended up in the back of the net. With the renewed need to score a second Colts pushed on more, although this meant more pressure for the defense, they coped well. Eventually a winner was scored by Paul King with a great header from inside the box. Final score 2-1.

Colts OBs lack goals
On Sunday 9th November Stevenage Colts OBs hosted top of the league Kingpin United in what was expected to be their toughest test yet. Colts started the better of the two teams and made it tell when Oliver Wisker hit a long range shot just under the bar when Kingpin failed to clear a corner. Kingpin then equalised from a close range smash when Colts failed to clear the ball convincingly. Not long after the restart Kingpin took the lead when a freekick from just outside the box found the top corner. With this Colts heads dropped and with extra insentive placed on attacking they were punished at the back with the game ending 5-1.

A hat-trick from Peter Lane and a well taken goal from Oliver Wisker gave colts an easy 4-0 victory where they never really came under much pressure.A perticular highlight of this win was Colts OBs first clean sheet of the season.

Today Stevenage Colts Old Boys beat Times Club 2-1 after going 0-1 down to a well taken volley. Colts held in score draw
Today Stevenage Colts Old Boys hosted A1 Trophies in their third game of the season. A1 Trophies took an early lead with a strike from the edge of the box finding the top right corner of the goal, an unfortunate set back so early in the game. The second half saw an improvement in play by Colts putting more pressure on. Finally it paid off with 10 minutes left when Josh Barlett headed in from a Kieran Hufford corner. In truth Colts should of won the game, but with a social event from the night before affecting some of the players maybe a point could be accepted.

Colts Old Boys Continue in same fashion
Today Stevenage Colts Old Boys played at home against Old Town Weatherspoons. Weatherspoons were looking for their first league points after a 2-3 loss to King Pin United at home last weekend. Colts Old Boys didn't let this happen and won the game 2-1. The first half was very promising for colts going in 2-0 up at half-time. During the second half fatigue started to settle in and Weatherspoons got a goal back, though in the end they didn't have enough to stop Colts Old Boys collecting the 3 points.
