Report

Colts started their second game of the season against and Putterills and lets say it could have started better. They soon found themselves 1-0 down after a penalty was awarded when Rhodes Winsor was judged to have handled. This wasnt the start Colts had hoped for and they soon went looking for the equalier, this may of happened around the 20min mark when Lane picked out Hufford who slotted into an empty net but Hufford was adjudged to be offside. The goal did come a few mins later though after Freeman was hacked down on the left, Hufford latched onto the ball and slotted low to the keepers right which opened his account for the season. Freeman was later involved in a Putterills player being booked, the Putterills left back wasnt happy after losing the ball so decided to chase back and kick Freemans legs away from him. Their wasnt much to talk about about in the first half quite apart from that Colts wernt actually managing to create much and the Putterills keeper taking an age to do anything.

The second half started better, looking from the sidelines you would of thought that Putterills would only manage to score from a set piece as they were not really threatning Lee's goal. Chances began to appear and after a knockdown from Bartlett, Lane should of found the net but somehow managed to get the ball caught between his feet and not get the shot off. Adam Wisker drove through a crowd of players from the edge of the area making it 2-1 to Colts. With Putterills tiring Colts started to create chances at will. Hufford went through on goal and went for the exquisite chip, Lane managed to nip in between the defender and keeper and shoot low past the keeper unfortunately for Colts the ball brushed the outside of the post. Lane again had a chance when he ran at his defender turned left, then right before passing to the unsuspecting Hufford who couldnt generate enough power to beat the keeper. Freeman like Hufford did earlier found himself in space and tried to chip the keeper, again the same result the ball heading over. As the game went on Lee was called into action making a crucial block and doing his best to protect the points, Pallister was also involved in this and with 2mins to go headed a corner off the line. Unfortunately Putterills last 5mins of pressure told and they equalised very late on after a corner was headed in. Again Colts shown that they can come back from a losing position like most of last season, just today they couldnt take all three points which better finishing would of definitely secured.
