Colts went into the game against Procladd thinking they were welcoming back Freeman, King and Lane back to the starting lineup however it wasnt to be after all three pulled out on Saturday. Luke Bennett did return for Colts though and partnered Jones upfront with Hufford playing his last game before his somewhat harsh suspension covering Lee in goal again. The only other real change was Bartlett finding himself in the centre of midfield with Mullen.
Colts started well and were one nil up early on after Bartlett found himself from a corner only surrounded by his team mates where he had the time to head high into the roof of the net. Procladd had a huge chance to equalise when the onrushing Hufford was just beaten to the ball by the striker however he just failed to find the net and the ball rolled wide, Hufford again was involved with the striker this time Hufford fortunately escaped conceeding a penalty after what looked like a blatent foul, as the striker rushed towards the ball Hufford went for the ball but mistimed it and clattered him. Whitten had a rare effort on goal when his deep free kick just sailed into the keepers hands.
Procladd were back in the game after lino N.Parker switched off and failed to give a simple offside decision which cost his team mates. It looked like Hufford was going to be beaten from a free kick but some how he managed to claw the ball out of the top corner and onto the bar in the process making a quality save, the ball was met by their player who had all the time in the world to put the ball in an empty net after everyone had stopped expecting an offside flag.
Bennett had a chance to put Colts ahead just before half time but he headed his free header just over at the back post. The second half started off much better for Colts as Jones and Bennett started to link up, the first real glimpse of this was when Jones attacked a Whitten free kick, unfortunately for Jones his well aimed low header was equally met by a good save however Bennett picked up the rebound and finished from 5yds. Colts soon had a 2 goal advantage when good up play involving Bennett, Wisker, Mullen found Bartlett who picked out Jones and from 20yds out pulled out a lobbed finish from the top draw leaving the keeper with no chance.
Soon after Jones had a chance to add to his tally but could only steer the ball wide. Procladd were pushing to get something from the game and were soon back in it when a great cross from the right evaded everyone and was met by the their player who nodded past Hufford. The game was fast becomming stretched and Jones and Bennett were linking up well, Jones picked up the ball about 30yds out before beating two men and feeding Bennett who cut across his defender and cooly slotted past the keeper extending Colts lead to two. Wisker had a chance to settle the game after good work from Bennett found him unmarked at the back post however he rushed his effort and fired wide. There was still time for goals and chances as Procladd again added another this time a ball slid in low from the right was met by the striker who managed to prod past Hufford. Procladd again called Hufford into action when a Procladd player found himself in the area with acres of space, however Hufford made sure Colts didnt throw any more points away with a good save and then to make sure pushed the ball over.
