Colts started this game with ten men after former captain Josh Bartlett decided to wake up late and cost the team 20 minutes of time. Adrian Lee returned from injury and Chris Parker also came back in to help a colts side ravaged by injuries and suspensions. Kingpin made their man advantage pay 2mins into the game when their player picked up the ball on the touchline cut inside and curled the ball from 30yds over Lee's head and into the top corner.
Bartlett arrived after this and Colts started getting into the game, but Kingpin struck again when a throughball wasnt dealt with, Lee saved well at the strikers feet but in the tussle Lee got kicked in the face, the ball span loose and the striker tucked it into an empty net.
Colts went close with their first real oppurtunity on goal when a free kick from Lane nearly squirmed through the keeper and over the line, N.Parker reacted and thought he would score, somehow though the keeper managed to prevent the ball going over the line under severe pressure from N.Parker.
Adam Wisker delivered a glorious ball across the box where the keeper saved brilliantly at C.Parkers feet at the back post.
The second half was much of the same, Colts kept working the keeper but couldnt break the deadlock and Kingpin as they do were playing nice football but were being frustrated at not being able to add more to the scoreline.
Lane thought he had scored when he beat his defender and placed the ball past the keeper, it looked like it had gone over the line before the Kingpin player cleared it.
N Parker was fuming a few seconds later when King picked out a great ball over the top for Parker to chase, N.Parker who controlled it on the edge of the area was clearly taken out from behind when through on goal, the ref ignored Parker's plea for a free kick and played on.
To make matters worse captain Dave Whitten went off with a leg injury and will most certainly miss next weeks game.
Colts just couldnt break the deadlock and the score finished 2-0. There maybe one more chance for the 2 teams to meet this season in the cup and Colts believe its about time they got one over on their old Division 2 rivals
