Report

Colts went into this game looking to put a bad run of results behind them and start mounting a push for the Division Two runner's up place, which would see them promoted to Division One in their debut season under Hufford.

In the early stages of the game colts, who had plently of the ball couldn't find that finishing touch in front of goal. The first goal of the game came when Lane picked out Hufford on the left who cut in and finshed low and calmy past the keeper into the bottom left corner. Barlettt added to the scoreline with a close range header after a corner was whipped in by Hufford. The third goal came in pratically identical circumstances, this time Searle whipping in a cross and Bartlett finishing from close range, this time with his foot.

Hufford failed to add to the scoreline when he scuffed his shot, making contact, but not enough for the ball to cross the line. Next Oli Wisker hit the post with a long drive. Colts were keeping the Breechwood goalie very busy forcing him to pull off multiple saves. Lane was next to score when he latched onto a great through ball from Searle, as the keeper came out Lane nipped it past him, slotting in from a tight angle. The next goal of the game was again scored by Lane. this time capitalising on poor defending Lane held off his marker well and volleyed into the net from close range after King had driven the ball in from the corner.

5-0 at Half time, though Breachwood are bottom and haven't scored a home goal all season, it's unlike Colts to have scored so many goals. It probably should have been more but the keeper made some fine saves.

The second half kicked off and it wasn't the most eventful, again the Breachwood keeper was kept busy but he was up to the task. King put in subsitute N.Parker who couldn only poke the ball into the top corner of the side netting. Lane was trying to get his hatrick and it finally came five minutes from time a after he picked up a lose ball on the right, and dribbled his way into the box, soon as he saw the angle he shot lost and hard past the keeper.

Winch who had come on for Jones was a constant threat to the Breachwood defence, and this showed as he chipped in a great ball to Lane who headed home at the backpost. There was another chance of a hatrick, this time for the unexpected Bartlett. Josh ventured forward from centre back and found him self in alot of space on the edge of the Breachwood area, Lane layed it back to Bartlett who hit a powerful shot, unfortunately for Bartlett and Colts the ball crashed off the underside of the bar and into Kings path. King was instantly shut down by the keeper but he managed to dink it over him, one of the Breechwood defenders had read the danger and positioned himself on the line to head away Kings chip, saving a certain goal.
